Flåmsbana - The Flåm Railway
People travel from all over the world to experience Flåm Railway. From Hallingdal Holiday Park it is a wonderful day trip. Driving to Flåm takes less than two hours.
The train journey from Flåm Station in the innermost part of the Aurland Fjord, to Myrdal Station - high up in the mountain on the Bergen Railway, is no than 20 km long. However,- it is one of the steepest train routes in the world, and it goes through some of the wildest and most magnificent parts of Norwegian nature. Watch rivers piercing through deep ravines, soaring mountains and cascading waterfalls, heights and peaks covered in snow, and mountain farms clinging to precipitous slopes.
Get up and going in the morning, and you’ll have time to park your car in Flåm and then take the train up to Myrdal. Enjoy a tasty lunch at Café Rallaren or Myrdal Fjellstove, before experiencing one of the world's steepest train rides down to Flåm.
