Flåmsbana - The Flåm Railway

People travel from all over the world to experience Flåm Railway. From Hallingdal Holiday Park it is a wonderful day trip. Driving to Flåm takes less than two hours.

The train journey from Flåm Station in the innermost part of the Aurland Fjord, to Myrdal Station - high up in the mountain on the Bergen Railway, is no than 20 km long. However,- it is one of the steepest train routes in the world, and it goes through some of the wildest and most magnificent parts of Norwegian nature. Watch rivers piercing through deep ravines, soaring mountains and cascading waterfalls, heights and peaks covered in snow, and mountain farms clinging to precipitous slopes.

In the summer season the train can be sold out on several popular departure hours. We will therefore recommend you to buy two way tickets for Flåm-Myrdal in advance at nsb.no

Another tip is to set off early enough to have time for stoping by the Stegastein stunning view point. Its not a big detour and spectacularly worth it!
